Why Me For Ghost CMS Administrator?
I’ve spent over 15 years building, managing, and maintaining production websites using CMS platforms such as Cascade Server, SharePoint, Liferay, Drupal — and now Ghost. Each system has its own structure and quirks. My work has focused on understanding and mastering those environments at scale, supporting live sites with thousands of users.
Ghost is rapidly becoming a favorite.
This site was deployed on June 21, 2025, as part of my application to Sticker Mule. The goal was to demonstrate the ability to work directly with Ghost CMS in real time.
What This Site Is
A working Ghost CMS instance based on the official Dawn theme. It was deployed quickly to ensure early visibility and is updated directly through the Ghost(Pro) admin interface.
A second, self-hosted version of this site — running at ghost-deploy-adambalm.onrender.com — is connected to GitHub and used to test theme development and deployment workflows. This setup reflects a practical separation between fast authoring and code-based control.
Work Completed So Far
- Deployed and configured a Ghost(Pro) site
- Forked and customized the Dawn theme
- Modified the
post-card.hbs
partial to ensure external links open in new windows (not the default behavior in Dawn) - Added a
routes.yaml
file for custom routing - Established GitHub-based version control for the Render deployment
- Updated layout and navigation
Planned Next Steps
- Add reusable layout components and improve theme styling
- Configure CI-style theme deployment using GitHub Actions and Ghost Admin API
- Begin syncing content and navigation between the two sites
- Decide on a long-term domain name to replace the temporary Render URL
